Basingstoke to West Wittering Run 28th August

The plan is to meet at Morrissons in the morning and then drive up the M3 to pick up the A3 southbound for a cruise down to West Wittering via the new Hindhead tunnel. Once at West Wittering we can park up and crack out the picnics BBQ's and spend the day chatting cars and chillin on the beach/grass.

There's the possibility of a little show and shine as well. More firm plans to follow in the next week. Stay tuned!

One and all, this coming weekend it is Dubs At The Park, a firm fave with the BaD-VAG crew. We'll be convoying up to park together as there is no club stands at this excellent event. Meeting at Morrisons in Basingstoke @ 9:25 to leave at 09:45 then stopping at Fleet Services for 10:00 to pick up a few others. We'll leave Fleet services at 10:10 and then head straight for the show. Lets hope for some good weather!

Thursdays are cool again, 28th is the date for your diary.

That's right people of the cyber space, BaD-VAG is back to it's summer time slot of 7pm on the last Thursday of the month. Now the evenings are lighter and warmer and those pesky shows are taking up Sundays it was time for the move. So now you have no excuse to stay in on the last Thursday of the month and watch rubbish TV. Instead you can come to the pub, show off your dub and natter with fellow addicts over a drink. See you there!

This time next week it's the March meet so here's a post to remind you. Feel reminded? Good. This will also be the last Sunday meet until the autumn as the show season is about to kick in and Sundays will get busier. From next month we're back to the last Thursday night of the month. While I'm tapping away here I will also mention plans are afoot to arrange for a small stand at this years Basingstoke Festival of Transport. More soon!

Elite 1000 have recently decided to start up a meet in Basingstoke and have managed to get the Management of Festival Place and some of the eateries on board. Impressive! The jist is as follows. March 8th from 7pm -12pm, Festival Place Carpark (exact area TBC), 10% off at BK, behave or get in trouble. Spring has yet to ...er...spring but the days are getting warmer, longer and slightly less miserable. To celebrate unwrap your VW Group ride, give it a clean and come up to the meet for a catch up with fellow dubbers. It's been a bit quite over the winter but the hardcore have been in attendance nearly every month and we've got a great vibe going on. Come and see for yourself. With the APril meet we'll be moving back to Thursday nights to avoid clashing with shows so there's only 2 more relaxing Sunday afternoons to check out. See you there!

It's the season to be jolly (Which means too much drink and not much driving). However if you're sober enough to drive, have managed to find your car under the snow and have had enough of your family then it's your lucky week. BaD-VAG is meeting on Thursday night at 7pm for some festive tom-dubbery to see out 2010. Wrap up warm kids and set the heaters to max, see you there!

That's right people of the internet, it's time for another BaD-VAG meet at the Longbridge Mill near Basingstoke this Sunday from 3pm. There's no flyer this month because....erm... well to be honest I've been a bit hooked on MW2, Black Ops and Forza 3 and I kept putting off doing it ( A big shout out to Mike for the Forza 3 BaD-VAG Logo! See pic below). Feel free to abuse me and call me a geek, it'll be deserved.

Anyhoo, you want a carpark with some dubs, a pub sunday roast and some witty banter amongst fellow car nuts? We got it nailed. Come along and say hi, we don't bite (unless you drive a Vauxhall).

Apologies to those that follow the blog for not updating it recently, I'm currently in the middle of changing jobs and refitting my bathroom and kitchen and it's kept slipping down my list of priorities.

Anyhooo the big news is the meet has moved from the last Thursday of the month to the last Sunday of the month @ 3pm for the winter period. It was reasoned that we'd get a bit more daylight for pics and it won't be as cold as the evenings. Also who can resist dubs and a warming Roast Dinner?

Another month has passed and another meet is just around the corner and as the show season draws to a close so the nights close in. On this note it would seem sensible to move the meet to Sunday afternoons for the winter so we have some light and a bit of warmth. Is this a good idea? Let me know what you think over a beer, grub and some smoooooth jazz on Thursday night. Nice!

It's been a busy 5 days with both the August meet and No-Rice's G2B run. This months meet had a great turnout considering the weather forecast and in fact it turned out to be dry most of the night. Thanks to all those peeps who made the effort, I reckon we made it worth it. Pics from this months meet can be found in the Flickr group HERE.

Next up on the picture front is some shots from the Bank Holiday Monday run to West Wittering with the No-Rice crew. A great little cruise down followed by a chilled day on the beach with a little show and shine competition, job jobbed. Check out the pics HERE.

Here at BaD-VAG towers we like a bit of No-Rice. It's a greatly monthly meet with some cool cars and sound people. Once again the NR boys are having a run down to the beach on the August Bank Holiday Monday and some of us BaD-VAGers are gonna head along for the ride. If you're interested coming along we'll be heading off from Basingstoke Morrisons car park at 08:15 to hook up with NR posse in Guildford for just after 9:00am. The summer is just flying past and the August BaD-VAG meet is nearly upon us already. July's meet was frankly epic in turnout with 40 cars at the peak of the evening and many people looking like they were enjoying themselves. As this is the last meet of summer proper it would be nice to see a similar if not larger turnout than last month. So get you're dub cleaned and polished and come along to what is a very social and chilled meet. As usual stickers will be available and I'll be wandering around with my camera snapping away.

and I don't mean World of Warcraft, I mean an actual exclamation of surprise and awe. What an awesome turn out to last nights meet. A real range of VAG group cars from Seat to VW, some rat, some bling, something for everyone. A huge thanks to everyone who made the effort to come along, both the newbs and the die hard regulars. I didn't count the cars but I would guess at 40 at the peak of the evening. Pics from the meet are now up on the flickr group here and if you took some please sign up to Flickr and add them to the group.

Bring on the August meet and lets make it a huge one as a last hurrah of the English summer!

July Meet is on the horizon

Yeah that's right, another month has flown by and the July meet is merely a week away. Now that that pesky pig bladder kicking tournament has finished the turnout should be a cracker. So if you're in the area and you want to meet some fellow dubbers for a natter, a bite to eat and drink there is no better meet. Last month we had a couple of tasty Rallyes and an amasing 20vT MKI cabby, will your ride be the center of attention this month?

..... was a bit quite. I guess a lot of folks were more interested in watching a load of blokes kick a ball round on the telly. That's right internet people, the June BaD-VAG meet is just round the corner and as usual it should be a top evening of cars, food and chat. ....... that this months meet is nearly upon us. That's right May's meet is next thursday (27th) and it promises to be epic (note I don't promise so no law suits if it's un-epic). So please help yourself to the flyer and post it on the forums you use and spread the word. 7pm kick off as usual and the summer nights, weather permitting, should mean much chilling outside and chatting dubs. Now if that wasn't enough excitement for you there's more. BaD-VAG stickers are available to adorn your ride and all for the meager sum of £1.50 each. They're available in either red or white and are outside in their stickyness. Don't delay, get one...er.....at the meet from me.

Dubs At The Park - Sunday 16th May

It's a local show, but not just for local people! Although there are no clubstands at this utterly brilliant event BaD-VAG will be having a presence. "How?" I hear you ask? Simple. If we convoy up then those in the convoy will be able to park together and the whole carpark is the show ground with every car entered into the show and shine. If you want to convoy up then we'll be meeting in the Basingstoke Morrisons carpark (look for the white trackday MKII Golf, map HERE) from 9:45am and will be leaving @ 10:00am. Basingstoke Festival of Transport this weekend!

Not strictly VAG related but this sunday's event is well worth a look. There's always a smattering of VAG to look at but you have to wade through 100's of frankly awesome metal to find them, what a hardship! The event is free (OK parking is £2!) and it's at the War Memorial park.
Had I thought about it earlier I would have arranged a BaD-VAG stand, but I didn't. Slack. Anyhow if you fancy a day of awesome transport for less than a pint of fosters you can't go wrong. Firstly a massive thanks for those who risked the shite weather forecast and the Reading traffic (Yes you Chuff!) to make it along to the meet. The turnout was brilliant and everyone seemed to have a good time which is what it's all about. Also a big thanks to the Dubs At The Park Crew for making an appearance to pimp their show in May (It's on the 16th, make a note). That's right readers, April's meet is this coming Thursday and word on the street (er well the forums) is that the turnout is going to be pretty impressive. So if you're in the North Hants, Berkshire, South Oxon, West Surrey or East Wiltshire area get yourself and your VAG mates along. Fine dubs, pub grub and a relaxed atmosphere. What more could a dubber want?

Well the March meet has been and gone and i think those that attended would agree it was a fun little evening and the new venue hits the spot parking and facilities wise. Two days and counting to the March Meet.

Just two days to go until the March meet, which is only our 2nd one. From the buzz on a few of the forums it looks like another good turn out is on the cards. Make sure to pack your cameras, warm hats and something waterproof as the weather isn't looking the best a the moment. Luckily the pub has masses of space inside and the food and drink is well priced. Keep spreading the word.

For those already on Flickr there is now a Group dedicated to BaD-VAG where you can add your shots from the meets. You can access the group here http://www.flickr.com/groups/1374117@N23/. Currently it's just filled with a few random shots to get it going. You'll also notice we have a Flickr "badge" on the right of the main page which randomly displays pics from the group. If you're not on Flickr then I would recommend signing up as it's a great resource for all things photography and it means you'll be able to add your shots to our pool.

Welcome to the BaD-VAG blog, for Basingstoke and Deane's premier VAG meet. So far we've only had the initial meet in Feb which was a success and we're looking forward to a summer of great meets. To be honest I have no idea what this blog will achieve at the moment over and above keeping people up to date with meet news and links to pictures from past meets.

So I guess keep your eyes peeled and see what happens!
